Description

Originally this was going to be a standalone piece, but then I looked at it and didn't really think it fit. Especially since the girl and the horse are "shoved into" the end of the picture and there's not really much in the rest of the picture. So I decided to put a song in there - a song I wrote for my book. Translation follows below the rest of the description (it was written years ago, so the text isn't really good, but I'm still fond of it. Even though it's got some weird, amateurish formulations).

The girl is Shanouna, the main character in my book, and the horse is Gwarandin. I painted him in quite a rush, sorry about that. I was just so sick of having this in my "not finished"-folder and never being able to finish it.

Translation of song (might be translation errors here and there) :
Wandering song

See the great, wide world
See it's waiting for us
The deep, white stars of the heavens
And the big, beautiful waterfall

Hear it calling, we must go (or follow)
after the song of the morning bird
So rub the sleep out of your eyes
Let's go now at once

Deep valleys, high mountains,
are before us on our way
so when the day turns to night
stars look down at me.

Flames are playing in the darkness
The owl flying out to hunt
But we're awake for long yet
Soon adventure will get power (or something. I'm not sure how to translate this line - "eventyr" can either mean adventure or fairy-tale, and it's meant to be both of those. The whole line feels so awkward in English, not to mention it's probably far from correct...)

So beautiful, the girl seems so wistful, looking away into the distance. The poem is beautiful *sigh* :D
