The Rebel

I have a thing for monochrome pictures. I have been using a lot more different colours lately, but I still like them. I think monochrome pictures can be strong in their own way. Look at black and white photography, for example.

Anyway. I don't remember how I got the idea for this, but it was a piece to do something different. I think what influenced this quite a bit was a test of hair sprays in a women's magazine. There was this one spray they said that it left the hair so stiff that you shouldn't use it unless you went for the extreme hair styles. But that wasn't how it begun - but unfortunately I can't remember how it begun. I think it was one of *gaux-gaux's pictures that inspired me.

This picture, even though it's just a face, is very much me even though I've never made a picture like this before, and it contains a lot of my favourite things. Monochrome colours, blue, the face in profile (you - and I - have no idea how many pictures of people in profile that I've made during the last year only), elf ears (the only ears I can do), wicked hair (I don't paint it often, but I love drawing it in pencil. I've always loved to experiment with the most wicked hair styles I could come up with. Oh, and the slightly pissed off attitude.

Okay, this is my first picture with critique discouraged - I didn't make this to improve or anything, and it's just a random work of my head, and besides it's finished and I don't plan to do anything more with it. It's exactly how I wanted it to be (and I mean exactly - I've never had a picture turn out so close to how I envisioned it when starting). However, that doesn't mean I don't want comments. I love comments. It's just that there's absolutely no point in pointing out what's wrong/what should be changed/how I could have done it better, since it's just the way I want it to be. It's not perfect, far from it, but still.
