Give me strength

"As she approached the blazing torches that marked the entrance to the camp, she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, sending a silent prayer to the gods. This was it. Several years of searching, travelling, trying to survive in grave danger, could be at an end. She might be able to go home and live a normal life from this point. But it was not likely, and it required hard work to make it. The most likely scenario, in case they just didn't kill her at once, was that she had to trade her own life for what she wanted to achieve. She felt her own hands tremble as she walked on, more hesitantly for each step. A few metres had never felt so long."

A character of mine, not sure which story she's supposed to be in because her task can fit in both, approaching a vicious nomad tribe to negotiate about something she needs to get. She is on a mission, sent by the gods, and has gone through years and years of what can hardly be called a life. I'm not sure who she is yet. Maybe she's the first Ajeènien Charbakina (ruler of the world, a title that would very likely send her out on this type of mission), maybe not.

I made the character long ago, and I'm very satisfied with the lightning on the character itself. The background is sketchy and was done in a rush, but personally I think it sort of fits with the mood and the setting. The lightning on the trees probably looks horrible, but I just wanted to finish it.
