Fire and Ice

Another goddess picture. I'm still playing with ideas for goddesses for my fantasy worlds.

With this picture I kind of wanted a picture where you weren't really sure if the light merely shone on the character or if it came from the character itself... Sort of. It's meant to be very simplistic.

The whole idea behind all my goddess pictures (no, they don't really LOOK like goddesses in the pictures) is transitions. In primitive belief systems as well as modern ones (if you can call them belief systems) transitions are important. Season transitions - the times when the sun "turn", for example, age transitions - from child to adult, and even marriage, which can be seen as a transition from a role as the daughter of a family to a role as the mother of a family. Birth is a transition, death is a transition, seasons are transitions... Thus, why not gods/goddesses for these types of things. Not that I have fleshed out the belief systems yet, but that's next on the list
