Ice Queenby *Ciuva

Scraps©2005-2013 *Ciuva
Some months ago, I started on a project I called The Ice Queen. I worked on it when I tired of working on "Rayhin, Queen of Sorcery", but it never really turned out the way I wanted it to. I couldn't get the right angle of the arm. The dress just looked bad. I practically gave up on the whole piece, although I did bring it home for Christmas just in case the most unlikely scenario would happen. Today, some relatives came over (because of my father's birthday some days ago, and mine too) today, and a girl that were there (the only one even close to my age, and she's much younger really) wanted to see me draw. And then I showed her Painter and told her about CGing, since she asked. It ended up with her asking me to draw the hair on Ice Queen, which I did, and couldn't I just do the eyes as well so she could see? It ended up with me nearly finishing the whole piece while she sat here, it was really nice. I fixed the angle of the eyes. Fixed the face. Fixed the hair. And now she really is the Ice Queen. It is going to be further refined, but I promised to upload it today. So this is for Ingvill, my kind helper.

Who is the Ice Queen? Once, when I was small, I saw a program about a girl who was taken to an ice kingdom, to the hall of the ice queen. I can't remember the details or what it really was about, but the image of the ice halls, the cold air and the cold ice queen with her magical atmosphere stuck in my memory. So here is my verison of the Ice Queen - gentler, younger, not so evil. I don't know really who she is yet, but I will find a place for her. Northern Charbakin definitely can do with an Ice Queen. She is no goddess, but she is a sorceress, and she has her own little winter kingdom. Or queendom?

(For those interested, I am also going to upload a detail picture. And yes, there will be a background and more detailed figure soon.)

(Perfeksjonisten i sving igjen... )

I really like this one, but I really don't like the dress. it seems a bit plain, maybe you could add some pattern, embroidery*sp, or lacing?
And what are you planning for the background?
:) But it's a really lovely start.

Yeah, it is very plain. It's going to have patterns on the sleeve and the hem (?) of the skirt, and that belt is going to be wildly different. I am thinking maybe some cold-coloured flowers or something. Not too sure of the background, maybe an ice castle (from the inside) with just icy walls in it, and maybe some fairies... I don't really know, but something with ice at least...

Ooo...that sounds nice. :) Maybe you could paint her familiar, if she has one. A wolf? I know they're hard to paint. :S But it'd look nice. I like scenes. :)
And yes, the interior of her castle sounds lovely with icicles and stuff. :D Or maybe on a snowy hill with her castle in the background. Because her hair wouldn't be blowing like that indoors. But yah, *cough* wolf *cough*
;p

That was a good idea :D I don't know if I'm able to paint a wolf, but it would be perfect. And then I absolutely LOVE wolves. Would be a nice challenge, actually :) And yeah, good idea about the snowy hill and castle in the background... It would be cool if I managed to do it. :D
